Add me to the axle seals list 27K!!!!

Yup I got my 03 F150 SCREW FX4 a little over a month ago used. I was headed in the house after a drive up to the White Mountains yesterday and smelled gear oil. I looked under the truck and sure enough the passenger side was leaking badly and slightly on the drivers side. The truck only has 27K so I guess it was time for the axle seals to go...LOL!!!

They are done now, the bearings were fine with no scoring on the axles or the bearings themselves. Guess is I plan on doing some offroading I will be fixing this truck often!!!

Dont feel bad. I joined this forum because of this problem. I have a 03 SCREW Lariat with 16K miles with the same problem. I thought it was a isolated problem until I started checking around on the net. I also have a roaring sound from the rear end when I cross 55mph. Taking it to the dealer soon before warranty runs out.

My 01 had same issue. Easy fix though at the shop. Common enough that the guys knew exactly what to do when I verbally described it
