tire size question

so I bought my truck almost a year ago and am really thinking the gas thing sucks.. in the last year I have averaged between 9-11 mpg.. I bought my truck with the 20" roush wheel package and whatever tires the dealer put on, bfg's I think.. anyway, is there any way the wheel and tire combo they put on is causing the mileage to be way off or what?? I am very consious about not going over 2k on the tach and very rarely gas it hard? due to the gas prices these days anyway.. So I guess what I am asking is would a dealer change the overall wheel size and not calibrate the odometer?? or am i really getting that crappy of mileage, and if it is just crappy mileage does anyone wana buy a 05' screw? LOL

If a taller tire was installed and the speedometer was not recalibrated your MPG figures are off. If that's the case, you are getting better MPG than your figures show.

What size are the tires? What Wandell said is true, that larger than stock tires would mean you are driving further than your odo indicates. However, that is probably less than 10% different than stock. More likely is that the 20" rims and tires weig significantly more than the OEM setup and that's what is causing the extra fuel consumption.

That's about 32" diameter tires. Close to stock 4wd truck size. I'm sure they weigh a lot more than OEM rims/tire, though.

that just seems to me like a lot of mileage I'm losing due to wheel weight though??

I did notice a little gain in mileage after i had two fuel injectors replaced under warranty though? i was getting around 9-10 mpg before they replaced them??

i still in the ~year I have owed the truck never blown a full tank of gas on the freeway either?? ( i don't get out much?? LOL)

thanks for the input..
