I keep seeing references to things like "01 SuperCrew Gen II", etc

How can you tell which generation your truck is?

What are the differences between the generations?

Y'all drop some whopping knowledge on me!!

 

I believe the biggest difference is the seats. The first Screws didn't have rear headrest. These were added shortly into the production year (Gen II). Later in the model year they add different seats with taller side bolsters (Gen III) instead of the almost flat seats. Basically, a late production Gen III truck is almost identical to a 2002 model.

 

hmm i know i read something about this wayyy back in my post history. I think someone mentioned also that there was a 2001.5 listed year model sold during the 2000 year model sales

There is a little info there. but like i said there is alot more, do an advanced search and search my SN and "gen 01" or something like that
or do and advanceed search and refine as posts 6 months and older.

yeah theres a Gen I, II, & III, My tan '01 Supercrew is a Gen I, the seats dont have adjustable headrests, arm rests made into the seats, a center console that doesn't reach the dash, and my build date is April '00

Heres my Gen I interior & build date, this should give you a clue on how to tell what Gen your Supercrew is

 

The Gen I front seats look the same as my 99 Lariat seats that were way better than my 2003 Supercrew seats. but I like the rear headrests of the Gen III/2002/2003.
