auxiliary or replacement fuel tanks

I ask this in the towing forum with no luck. My sons and I use my trailer to pull a car trailer around the area. Sometimes quite a ways. Went from Ark to ND and back over a weekend a couple of months ago. Bet we put 20 fill-ups in the Darn truck on that trip. Maybe more!

Does anyone know if a auxiliary or replacement fuel tank exists? I like my truck, but wish I didn't have to stop so often when towing. I have done searches all over the net with no luck. I would take a cross bed tank if it would fit, but there is not much room there. I would even take the tonneau off. Has anyone got one on their truck?

Anyone know of such a thing?

Steve

Trying to fidn the URL, there was a posting some time ago, with a FAQ on how to add a fuel cell where the spare tire is at.

This was on a F250/F350 and he put the spare in the bed of the truck, mounted upright.

Don't know if the ~ 20 gal fuel cell where the spare is at, is going to help a lot or not. Sounds like you want a transfer tank style one at the bulk head of the bed. Does take up some of the room, but addresses your problem the best. Nice thing, if done correctly, the transfer tank can be removed when you are not using it.

I will try and find that. Better than nothing.

I looked at those transfer tanks but I am looking for something automatic. I had one in past trucks and they offer such a thing for other Fords, but not the Screw.
