Gas Milage With ToolBox

Did anyone here loose gas milage with a tool box in the bed. Just wondering before we put one in. Thanks

yes, but will you actually notice? Probably not. Had one in my 02 SCrew....more weight (tools and junk in box)=less milage.

Don't know. Don't care.

Who wants their tools sliding all around the bed of their truck, though?

And exposed to the elements?

You do plan on using it for it's intended purpose, yes?

I really never noticed a difference in gas mileage with or without a bed-tool box in my trucks. If I put...say... 500-700 pounds of ammo in there for a machinegun shoot, then yes, I did notice a 1 - 1.5 MPG loss in fuel economy. No difference than if I was hauling 700 pounds of Quikrete in the bed.

Fill it full of rocks and the truck gets better traction and more gas milage. Yup. its true.
