Glad she's ok man... damn, that sure does suck.. As much as I personally don't care for the look of a brush guard... It sure could play the role of minimum front end damage from an animal strike. (I went with a bull bar, though it wont help much)

Just hope the insurance company don't jerk ya around. Full coverage?

First of all HAPPY to hear your wife is okay.

Now, maybe even in the best scenario that animal she does not know will cost you guys a couple grand $$ for the up close and personal introduction...

If you have an accident that totals a vehicle and you break even financially that is just as lucky as surviving the accident (unhurt) in the first place.

Glad to hear your wife made it out, for the most part, unscathed.
Sorry to hear about your truck, but I am sure you are happier that the truck got it worse off.

Hope your ins company does right by both of you.

The truck could be replaced but thank god the wife walked away. Good luck getting a new truck.

Thankfully your Wife is O.K.! The truck did it's job well.

It's sad to see an old truck go, but on the bright side, nothing eases the pain like a NEW truck!

I do agree that it is great that your wife is ok and was not seriously injured.

Its strange that I remember this promo that was thunk up by our state's department of public safety with the number of car/truck vs. deer accidents our state was having.

http://www.dps.state.ia.us/deercrashes/brochure.htm

I have to agree it may sound dumb at first but it makes scense after you read it and maybe could have avoided the destruction of your truck in your situation(even though you never really said it was a deer).

Ill be the first one to slow down for a squirrel that runs out in front of me as long as I can do it safely and not cause harm to myself or another motorist. But if it is any other situation than that, its squirrel (or what ever animal) pancake time.

Just throwing in my 2 cents on the topic.

This post saved me and my truck this week. Going down the interstate came over a hill and there was a roll of carpet in my lane

Just as I went to jerk the wheel I remembered this post (life was in slow motion) and instead I was and able to swerve around it carefully.
