Hey, it's the new guy!

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the site, and just wanted to say hello to everyone. This site looks like a great resource!

I've got a 2006 F150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4. Power comes from the 5.4 Liter, and gets to the ground through a 3.73 limited slip rear end. It includes a few goodies like the XLT Chrome Package, and power rear window. I LOVE the back-up sensors, but my friends warned me of becoming lazy, and not looking when I back up. Oh yeah, I opted for the 6.5 foot bed, and love it!

It's black with a grey cloth interior. I drive dirt roads regularly, so it's almost never clean. (What was I thinking when I picked black anyway??!!) I also added the Ford splash guards, a rubber bed mat, and an Extang Black Max bed cover.

Our family loves tent camping, so this truck works great for us. Four kayaks on the roof, four mountain bikes on the hitch-rack, and all our gear in the bed. Woo Hoo!! (I should own stock in Yakima)

My truck history goes something like this:

1992 Ranger XLT SuperCab 4x4 (LOVED IT)
1995 Explorer XLT 4x4 (Along came our first kid!)
1997 Expedition XLT 4x4 (Along came our second kid!)
1999 F150 SuperCab 4x4 (w/off road package) SWEET TRUCK!
2001 F150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4
2003 Honda Pilot EX AWD (Needed to haul people more than stuff)
2006 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 (HOME AGAIN!!!)

I LOVE MY TRUCK!

I'm looking forward to participating here on this site.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

BlueJay, the XLT Chrome package includes:

Chrome Bumpers, Tubular side steps, Grill Trim, exhaust tip and 18" chrome- plated alluminum wheels.

I really like how it looks with the black paint. I've seen the package on white trucks too, and it looks sharp.

Thanks! They're easy to clean too. The openings in the wheel are big enough to easily clean out brake dust and other grime. I put a coat of wax on them to help keep them cleaner too.

It feels REALLY good to be back driving a truck again!

Sounds like we have the exact same truck, except mine is only 4X2. I baby my vehicles too much so I knew getting a 4X4 would be a waste of my money because I would never take it off roading anyways. I really like the wheels that came with the chrome package as well, but I want to move up to a bigger tire and at 7.5" width they are a tad too small for my comfort level so I will probably be going with at least an 8.5" when I finally make the move to the bigger tire.

Nice! I would have preferred your tan interior over my grey. 4 Wheel drive is a must for me up here in Michigan. I've already been off road. I just LOVE IT!!
