just wondering
I installed a new stainless steel overlay for the gadge cluster.... after tweeking the needles for an hour or two i noticed(only because i was staring at it for an hour) that after turning off the key within 10-15 seconds the needles drop about 1/4 of an inch below where they normaly rest, jiggle, then return back to their normal position, is this normal or did i screw my self over.
I helped my buddy do an overlay on his camaro gauges.
Start by having the truck "on" but not running, put the key in, turn it forward to on, where the gauges come up, but dont crank it.
I would put the needle where it should be. Adjust your temp, volts, etc gauges. Then turn the truck on, adjust rpms needle. make sure all the gauges are reading where they should, and act properly like if you rev it, the needle moves like it should.
On his overlay, we had to trim the edge of it right around the needle with a razor blade. because the rpms gauge would stick, and was slow to react.
Hope this helps.
