Thinking about the 35.7 gal. tank
Thinking about the 35.7 gal. tank
Newbie here...
I'm about to order a new screw and I'm interested in the 35.7 gallon fuel tank. Can anyone tell me if there are any drawbacks to the bigger tank?
I was told that getting the bigger tank might mean having to move the spare tire from underneath the vehicle into the bed. Is this true?
Thanks in advance.

First, why do you need to carry so much fuel? It's heavy!
I have a 30 gal tank and can go over 400 miles without stopping. That's over 5 hours without stopping. That's to far for me. I have to stop and stretch my leggs every 3 hours at the least. Might as well get fuel.
Unless you do some serious 4 wheeling or heavy duty towing, I just don't see the the need for such a huge tank.
But my motto is, if you want it, get it. If it gives you piece of mind to have an extra 5 gals of fuel. Go for it.
I haven't heard about the tire in the bed of the truck. Have to look into that.

I would go for larger. It isn't a matter of driving a full tank at once for me. It's just that 5 more gallons means one more day I could commute.
I doubt you have to move the spare tire as the fuel tank is between the axles while the spare is behind the rear.
