I posted this in the Navigator section but noone could help me out. Maybe someone here can.

I hope someone can help me with this. On my wifes 02 Navigator the map lights wont come on when we press the on/off button in the overhead, but they do come on when we turn the interior lights on by the headlights and they come on when we open the doors. Is there any explanation for this?
