Question Navigator console in 2001 Screw

It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought it was time to start being a little more active. I'm in the process of adding a few tweaks to my 2001 Supercrew and wanted to find out if anyone knows if a floor console from a 2000 Navigator will fit properly? I have an Alpine CD Changer in my current console and was hoping that the Navigator console is deep enough to fit it. I'd also like to know if anyone has been able to use the radio controls in one of these consoles (at the rear).

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

This is discussed in the Technical Articles. Below is a quote from the article.

"Q. What F-150 models will an Expedition console fit in?

A. The Expedition console will fit into any model F-150 (RegularCab, SuperCab and SuperCrew) as long as it has bucket seats.

Q. What is the difference between an early model console and a current model one?

A. The Expedition consoles from ’97-’98 were narrower and work with the F-150’s factory armrests. In 1999 Ford removed the armrests from the Expeditions and made a wider console. This causes problems for the F-150 owners, though, because the F-150’s still have armrests."
