Yep... that's a Rockpick installed power rear sliding glass... with factory (Ford Contour) switch.

From his old truck though. He got an itch and traded up to the new body style King Ranch. Some of us around here have kept our heritage body style trucks. I've kept mine because of all the wonderful goodies I've put in my King Ranch too.

So where does the factory F150 switch get installed for the power glass?

The picture I posted earlier in this thread shows this... My install was as factory as factory could get from an aftermarket standpoint. The dash panel was replaced with the one that had the two holes for the switches (pedals and windows) (only replaced because I'm really horrible with a dremel tool - HA!). It functioned like a factory installed option in that it was tied to the same power source as the power windows. That being said, when the truck was turned off, it would operate until someone opened a door...

Interesting. So ones that came factory equipped with the power glass didn't have lableling above the switch like the pedals?

In 01, I don't think so.

When I ordered the dash piece for mine, my VIN was utilized to sync the part so that it would work.

In hindsight, I wish I would've pushed to get the 02-03 version which did, in fact, have text above the switch that matched 'PEDALS'. Can't remember what it said... REAR GLASS maybe?

i realize this is a LONG dead thread, but faawrenchbndr, if you are still out there, can you email me the instructions for the upgrade to adjustable pedals? I'm only 5'3'', and they would greatly benefit me... Anyway, my email is minimonster17 at hotmail dot com. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't waste the money either. I have them on my Lariat and the Wife used them twice...the first and last time right after we brought it home. Definately an option that I wouldn't get as an upgrade. Just not worth the time and money you are going to put into it. And believe us when we say, you will only use them once. Resale will be the same, with or without them. Just my $.02.

I would say don't waste the money either, there's probably more well-used options you could install. I "set it, and forget it!", lol. Only moved them once when I got the truck and that's where they have stayed. Even if somebody else drives it, they move the seat and not the pedals.

Haha, I just noticed this thread is 2 years old. Well, I'll post it anyways.

you see though, for me, the option will prove to be very useful, as I am shorter for a full grown man, 5'3'', and I HATE having to have the seat all the way up to fully reach the pedals. I actually sat in the seat of a friend's 03 Scab FX4 with the adj. pedals, and was able to sit at least 6-8 in back from where I have to in my own truck. As far as increasing resale, I am not worried about that, as the truck only has 30k miles on it, and I plan on keeping it. Thus, not only will the pedals make my drive more comfortable by granting me more room, but it will be a safety upgrade, as in the case of an accident, my entire torso won't get smashed by the airbag.

If you go to my gallery there is an interior shot of my drivers side. You will see the pedal switch to the left of the steering column.

I do appreciate the photos, however, my truck is of the older body style, being that it is a 2003. What I really need to know is exactly what parts I will need to attempt this mod. I know I'll need some sort of switch, and to dremel a hole under the headlight switch for the pedal switch, however, do do I also need an entirely new pedal assembly as well as some wiring, or will my existing pedals work w/ some fabrication?

if anyone is interested, i just completed the upgrade to adjustable pedals. The parts required were a brake pedal assy, a gas pedal assy, and a switch. though it was quite expensive, it was well worth it to me. prior to installing them, i had to sit with my seat all the way up to the steering wheel to completely reach the pedals to the floor, as i am only 5'3''. now however, i can literally sit with the seat all the way back, and can comfortably floor the pedals with the pedals adjusted all the way up. this has greatly increased the quality of my driving, and my personal safety, in the event of an accident. if anyone wants the part numbers to perform this upgrade on a 97-03, let me know...
