Passenger "A" Pillar Water leak
My '04 Super Crew was "t-boned" on the driver's side in the "A" pillar area at about 55 - 60 mph on an expressway. Thank God I was in a full size tuck or I wouldn't be writing this post. Back to my question.
The truck spent 9 weeks in the body shop getting repaired. Since it was originally repaired we hadn't had any rain until 2 weeks ago. My wife put some papers down on the passenger's side front floor. When she picked them up they were very wet!! I took it back to the Body shop, my Ford dealer, and it has been there for almost 2 weeks now. During the first repair they had to replace the windshield. They replaced it again last week. It is still leaking according to the body shop manager.
He claims there are several TSB's out for leaking around the "A" pillar and I did find 1 TSB for leaking around the "A" pillar. He also claims that their service department has had many S' Crews in for leaking. I told him very bluntly that it was NOT (
) leaking before the accident. I have had the truck since April of '04.
Has anyone had any water leaking from the "A" pillar area. Where the leaking seems to be is on the opposite side from where I waas hit. When I get home tonight I will post a picture of the truck the next day after the accident.
BTW I drove the truck home 40 miles. No frame damage just had to bungee cord the driver's door closed.
Here are the photo's before repair.

You can find out where it’s leaking from yourself
Close all the windows
Turn your A/C fan on high
Spray everywhere (around windows, doors, etc) with a soapy water solution
* BINGO *
I found the leak pictured below on my truck but this test will work and show up a leak anywhere on the truck, around windows, doors, etc, etc.
You’ll be able to tell the body shop where you think (know) it’s leaking from ~ ~
Good Luck
