antenna on my supercrew

The antenna on my supercrew is loose at the base where it attaches to the fender. Anyone know how it can be tightened. I think the black boot at the base is removable, allowing screws to be tightened somewhere.

I have an '02 S'crew, but I have not had any problems with the antenna getting loose. I've seen several people, at shows, that unscrew theirs and put on a "shorter" one for showing, then put the stock one for driving. There has to be a way, I just have not had the need. Good luck

funny you should mention your antenna is loose. my 03 is the same, i figure it's from the dealer washing it and bending my antenna everytime i get the oil changed. i've told them not to wash it cause they bend it and i have to grab it and straighten it out. i've also looked and i can't get the cap removed to expose the screws. there are 2 screws there because you can feel them from inside the fender. i'm just going to get the dealer to tighten mine back up next time i get the oil changed. if i don't i think it will end up chipping the paint underneath and start rusting.

The base "cap" can be popped off by carefully using a flathead screwdriver and getting up under the edge of it. I took a screwdriver and covered the end with electrical tape to reduce the chance of scratching anything. A knife edge might be better since it is a thinner edge.

antenna problem

Thanks a bunch. I just had not applied enough force to the boot and after reading that it could be removed I was willing to force it a little more. Problem solved and now the deer won't hear me coming.

Strange... My '03 has a loose antenna as well. I was afraid that I would have to get up under the fender to get at the base- and that didn't look like fun. Thanks for the info!
