looked at another screw

This time its a 2002 xlt 4x4 4.6 ,It has the cheaper wheels, clothn interior 44k miles. I can get this one for $16000 (more in my price range) My question is .. was is the gear ratio different in this model then the lariat ? It has the tow package. I would like to put larger tires on this vehicle and would like to know if that would change anything????

I would recomend you to get the 5.4 over the 4.6, I beleive you will be a lot happier in the end. Especially if you are wanting bigger tires and what not. Good luck, and make sure that you decide to get exactly what you want.

I agree w/ the 5.4L comment if you can find a truck you like with it. Cheaper than $1200 gears on 4x4's.

Any F-150 has the axle code on the driver's door sticker. Print out these codes when you take a look at trucks:

19 = 3.55 open
H9 = 3.55 LSD
26 = 3.73 open
B6 = 3.73 LSD
27 = 3.31 open
18 = 3.08 open
25 = 4.10 open
B5 = 4.10 LSD

I'd pass on a SCrew with a 4.6L. The engine is a tad under-powered for the weight of the vehicle (especially a 4X4).
