Got the Notice
I got the notice from Ford today on the recall for my 2001 F150 Super Crew cruise control switch. I unpluged the pressure switch on the end of the master cylinder, and taped up the harness. Ford said parts would be available in Nov. of this year for permanent repairs.
Will this temporarily keep me from risk, or is there something else I can do?
Thanks

This will probably stir up things a bit...but... I know the owner of a ford dealership personally and he told myself and my father that this recall is BS. There isn't anything wrong with these switches. He didn't elaborate as to why he seems to know that... But I got my notice in the mail too for my 01 screw and as long as the repair is free of charge I'll have them do it.
My presumption is better safe than sorry.

Just called the a dealer in Ms where I am From and was informed that parts may be in by Feb. Called dealer here in Oklahoma City where I am at now and was told the same thing, have to wait until Feb.
I am out of town so I had my wife check the switch to see if it was hooked up. The switch was hooked up, I had her disconnect it and she said there was fluid in both sides, switch and connector. Now my cruise hasn't worked since I bought it a week ago, could this have been the problem all along, a bad switch? She said that it also looks like a black wire with a green stripe looks like it has been cut and capped off, is the power wire going to the switch that someone (dealer ie.) could have cut instead of disconnecting the switch? The truck will be up here next weekend so if there is anything I can check please let me know.
