A/C question .. Compressor not cycling

Have a 2004 SC FX4. Today, my a/c compressor just decided not to cycle on and off. Does not come on at all = no a/c. I have checked all fuses.Worked fine this morning. This afternoon, nothing at all

Any ideas what may be up?

This happened with my old Exploder. It was one of the relay packages vs. a fuse, if memory serves.

you could have a leak . if so it will not come on if it doesnt sense any pressure in the system

There's usually an identical relay pack that serves something else. When mine went out, I swapped in a known good one and when that fixed the problem, all i had to do was head to the local parts store and lay down $20. You'll be ten times that amount at the dealership if you're not under warranty.

This just happened to my heater a month or so back. I'm pretty sure it was the A/C the time before, but that might have been the heater too...

Turns out the compressor crapped out. A little over 1 year old. Go figure. This is my 3rd Ford vehicle compressor in 2.5 years. 2 on my Explorer. 1 on the F150.
