I see a lot of posts with guys whining about a thump when they accelerate or hit a bump. My FX4 does it too. It's the tail gate (in my case). Makes an aweful racket. Just open your rear sliding window when going down a bumpy road.
That little shimmy, or vibration they feel when starting from a stop? That's a classic Ford limited slip differential. Every Ford truck I've ever owned did it. Some people don't notice it, others do.
A lot of the complaints I've read over the last year about the SC are just common quirks to Ford trucks. Some are legitimate problems. But, for the most part, I'm sorry their new SC makes noises and vibrates more than their Honda or Kia did. (Sorry, I just had to vent).

Mine clunks also - and I replaced the limited slip witha Detroit Truetrac - and the clunk did not go away. So what other Ford 'quirk' could it be?
