Extended Warranty’s ?
Extended Warranty’s ?
I am the second owner of a 2003 Supercrew that has about 7 months or 5000 mile from the end of the original warranty. Is it possible to purchase an extended warranty from Ford or would I be wasting my time contacting Ford. Any input would be appreciated.
I'm not too sure about Ford extending it, but it never hurts to ask your dealer. There are companies out there whose specialty is extended the factory warranty. Here are some to check out: www.carbuyingtips.com , www.FactoryWarranty.com ,http://www.carandtruckwarranties.com/ ,

Yes, you can purchase an OEM-backed warranty until 35999 miles or 36 months from original sale date. Only buy OEM extended warranties, if oyu buy any. Skip those above. You can get a quote from any Ford dealer, but there are several online that are cheaper. Check out Ford Warrantys.

As your miles go up, so does your cost. If you're sure your keeping it n number of years, buy now. Here's my recent (current, actually) experience:
Got my rock-bottom, lowest online price before I talked to anyone in town. Called the local dealership. They said something to the effect of "how are they making any money?" After a short talk, they agreed to more or less match the price (about $30 over the online price). In spite of what some others have claimed in other threads, he indicated there will be no sales tax. I'm stopping by tomorrow or Sat to sign the paperwork...
No matter what, only go with the Ford ESP plan. I've been poking around on the Internet and talked to my local service manager today. Nightmare stories abound. Seems a lot of these aftermarket guys insist on used parts and shortcuts and tend to suddenly go out of business after they've sold a certain number of policies.
