What is the metric conversion to inches on tires? I have 265/70/17 . What are those inches?

A 265/70-17 is basically a 32x10.50-17. Keep in mind tire manufacturers always round sizes up to the next whole number. Depending on the manufacturer the height is probably 31 5/8 or 31 3/4 inches.

With a four inch lift could I get 35's to fit comfortably?

To answer the question, there are 25.4 mm per inch.

Tread width is 265/25.4 = 10.43

Overall height -
(((265 x .70)/25.4) x 2) + 17 = 31.6

From my personal experience, they are slightly taller and narrower than a 32x11.50 tire (comparing a Bridgestone Dueller AT 265 to a BFG All Terrain 32x11.50).
