Sliding truck bed
Sliding truck bed
2000 F-150 Flareside-
Hey, I am going to get spray in bed liner this weekend, but there is a dent in the front of my bed. I need to just slide the bed 1-1.5 feet off to pound the dent back to normal. Is it hard to move the bed? All I know is the six bolts, what else do I need to take off?
Thanks!

not hard to do but make sure you have the right tool for those star bolts. Make sure you dont strip them. I took off my truck bed and had to cut out 4 of them an they cost 24 buck a piece. So make sure you have the right bit to remove them. If I remember right on each side of the frame there is this little nub the bed has to fight right on too. So you may have to lift up an the slide. Also there is some hose that has to be disconected. Crude now its coming back to me. The tail lights had to be disconecte, the gas tank neck bolts. There are a few things you are going to have to do just to "Slide" it a few inches. Good luck. My suggestion is to go over to the local parts place and see what haynes recomends.
Thanks for the bed info satexas!
I stripped 2 bolts, and I said F it.
.. So I just drilled a hole in the dent and pulled it out with a Bondo Puller thingy. Worked pretty good, since it was free. ... But I wasn't satisfied...
So I then sanded the surface and tomarrow I am going to use bondo on it. Got dark to soon, and I was tired. We will see how things turn out early afternoon.
Thanks for your help everyone.
