Help newbie w/ Cold air kit, exh, step bars,etc...

Hi All, from the south

I picked up my 2001 Screw, 5.4, Lariat, 2 wd today. Being new to Ford products, I need some guideance on some items I want to add to the truck.

mud flaps
chrome shell & billet grill
wheel to wheel steps
cold air intake system
dual exh.
2 in drop shackels.

I have a local trim shop where I will probably buy most items.
He will tint the windows
Husky mud flaps
Stull chrome grill shell w/ billet insert (not 100% on this brand)

The items I'm not sure about are wheel to wheel step bars. Cab step bars are plentyful & about $279 for a set. His sources seem limited on reasonable
whl-whl steps, under $500 for a set, which he says is high.
Anyone know of a source for whl to whl steps?

The other item is a cold air intake kit. There are many of these out there, some hype, some work, some have better advertising budgets.
I like a closed system like a Volant, not just an open filter stuck under the hood.
Which one to get? Pros and cons?
Can I just pick any drop shackels or does it matter?

Any other tricks or must haves on this truck?

Thank you for your time and help to build a better truck.

Welcome N B!

You will find that on this site, few people are as knowledgable or passion as Mike Troyer (see sponsoring vendors).
He recommends ONLY the Air Force One.

Okay,

It looks like the Air Force One on the intake kit.

I think I may just go w/ the cab step bars instead of the whl to whl due to excess cost & lack of choices.

Magnaflow muffler on the exhaust seems to be the choice. Which config, 3" in single, dual 2.5" out to duals w/ tips. Which Magnaflow, not too loud.

Any & all responses are welcome as I am going to buy in a day or two.

Thanks again,
Babyhauler
