Does anyone know if the 2005 FX4 style fender guards will fit the 2005 XLT 4x2 Supercrew? The two bodies look the same generally, but I don't know if the sheetmetal at the fender lips is identical. How do the FX4 guards attach to the body?

 

Are you talking about the fender flares? If you are, I believe they will fit.

 

Yes, it's the flares. I was hesitant to call them that because they really don't appear to be flares in the tranditional sense. Sorry, I'm a new owner, gotta lear the terminology. Do you know how they attach?

 

I bought a set of stock FX4 fender flares of off a 04/05 supercrew on EBAY for my 05 XLT, they might work if you are willing to drill a few holes and get creative with some 3M tape, i paid $120 shipped. I am unwilling to drill any holes and do not have the time to try to fit them on now, however i did buy the 3M tape from NAPA cost like $50 really high dollar stuff. anyway I have the set available for what i paid($120 shipped i will throw the tape in free) if you want it, they are in pretty good shape i can take a few pics if you want.
