Chrome or Aluminum-Most Durable?

As mentioned before, the wife and I are planning on buying a new 2006 Supercrew Lariat or King Ranch this fall.

Now that new chrome wheels are available for 2006, which do you feel would be most durable and look the best, if properly maintained, over 7-8 years...chrome or aluminium? Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike

It all depends what you are looking for. The chrome clad is a polished mirror look (bling-bling), and the aluminum has a handsome machined finish.
If it was me, I'd go with the chrome.

As far as durability, they are both durable and the finish should last a long time.

Chrome wheels really help with the brake dust on OEM F-150's. Keep in mind that you are just getting a plastic painted cover/film. No one used chrome wheels as they are too heavy.

My preference without seeing the actual wehel designs is that chrome looks better on dark colors and (silver painted) aluminum looks best on light colors.

I don't know about the 06 F-150 rims. The 99-03 5-star chome 17" were steel.
