New 6.5 Ft. Bed in 2006?

Is Ford coming out with a SuperCrew with a 6.5 ft. bed in 2006?
Believe the new Harley Edition has a 6.5 ft. bed and it looks great!

Lightning: You might be right. When I saw a picture of the new 2006 Harley, I did not study it closely. Just noticed the 6.5' bed. It looked like a Supercrew, but it might have been an extended cab. If so, my apologies.

Thumbs down

just from what i have been told in 2006 the supercrew will be redisigned totally. what we are driving now in 2005 will be the newly redesigned f250. they will take our 150's away again and make it a 250. they did this in 2001.

I can't see only the Crew getting a redesign. The whole F150 would change all at once.

As far as these trucks becoming 250s? Huh? You mean a light duty 3/4ton? They already have it. The Superduties were just redesigned (2005 MY) and wont see a facelift until at least 07.

And what exactly did they do in 2001? The previous gen were introduced in 96 as 97 MY. There was F150 and F250LD in the new truck with the F250HD and F350 on the older style until 99 when they introduced the SUperduty lineup. At this time the F250LD became the F150 7700# payload package. 2001 was a very mild facelift (new bumper, grill, dash, seats, 4dr scab, new crewcab)

2006 or 2007 would be the next F150 redesign and it wont even be that. It will be a facelift only (new grill, new dash new seats and thats about it)

Personally, I think that a supercrew with a 6.5 foot bed would not be as attractive.

If you need that large of a bed with the interior space of a supercrew, get an F-250 or F-350.

I agree. Would look way too long. Also, have the turning radius of a hearst.

Don't know if you all saw this on the other boards, but yes--the 2nd build of the 06 150's will be available with a 6.5' bed in SuperCrew configuration. The wheelbase will be 150" which is about 6" bigger than the SuperCab with 6.5' bed. I think the 2nd build starts around December. I think it will look good-the picture below is of my dad's truck on the right and mine on the left. I hate to say it, but I like the look of the longer wheelbase on his truck. As far as turning radius goes, my previous truck was an 02 F250 4x4 super cab w/ 8' bed--so pretty much ANYTHING turns better than that...

NOT at all--I asked for that a few posts ago on the 04-05 board, but just got dismissed with "it would look like a supercrew w/ a 6.5' bed". THANKS for the pic!!! I think it looks real good. Anyone wanna buy an 05 KR come late December??

I think I will wait for the longer bed. I just received a ad from Ford for special rebates and financing, so I was going to take a look at the 05. Now I am going to wait. Only problem is that I will have to have the brakes re-done for the third time in a year and a half!

Nice photoshop edit! I would love to learn how to do that!

Regards,
Kevin

thanx! it's really not that hard, just get hold of photoshop elements(it's cheaper that photoshp proper), and play around. That 'shop only took about 15mins to do. Admittedly i do this kinda stuff for a living but anyone can get pretty good very quickly
