Rear Passenger Windows
Rear Passenger Windows
I tried to do a search on this but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so the rear passenger windows go down all the way like the front windows do. I tried pulling the door panel off and seeing how the window went with the track and couldnt find anything stopping except it seemed like that was the full extension of the assembly. If anyone knows what i can do or if it is even possible, let me know please. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand these window units were taken from the Expedition which had the windows this way as a safety device for kids. I have yet to hear of a "fix" for this. Really wish someone would work come up with one - looks funny driving around with all four windows down and the back ones are still partially up, especially on mine. Dealer had to fix the window motor in one of my rear doors (twice) and now when you put them all the way down, one window is higher than the other.
Back window system is from the expedition, but it's not a safety item. In the expy, the rear wheel well cuts into the door , taking up space, so the window cannot go all the way down. Since Ford just used the expy window regulator and rails instead of tooling up new ones, the windows don't go all the way down. The 2004 crews go all the way down as they tooled up regulators only for that truck. The only way to get them all the way down would be to make new longer track rails, and 4 new longer cables going from the motor assy to the window.
