Rear window wind noise!!!!!
Rear window wind noise!!!!!
I just bought a 05 lariat screw. I rolled down the rear window while going down the highway this weekend, and man you can't even stand it. It is a repetitive sound that shakes the seats and hurts my head. Anybody else notice this??
Everyone who has ever owned a truck with a rear window. I discovered years ago that the only time I want to use the rear window is if I close all the side windows. This is nice on long nighttime highway trips when it's too cool to run the air and you don't want to roll down the side windows.
The other drawback to opening the rear and side windows at the same time is that any sand or dirt in the back of the truck will get blown around and sucked into the cab. I opened the rear window on my Ranger maybe 3 times in 8 years. I've not yet opened the rear window in my current truck.

Sorry, I should not have said the "rear window" I meant to say the rear passenger windows (the rear door windows). It does not matter if I have any other windows open or not. It is beyond annoying!!
I experienced that in my '02 supercrew when I had it and now with my '04 Eddy Expy. It is deafening. Like someone is slapping both hands over your ears at the same time. Forget about trying to open all the windows with the moonroof open.
Road wind noise
Hi Guys,
Not sure if anyone's posted a reply, but it's merely a matter of science and physics. That slapping, wind, etc is just turbulence because there's no outlet...
Just an fyi..:-)

I know that. It's not a matter of why but that it does. The SCIENCE of pneumatics is a complicated subject. Provide one inlet with no outlet...(one window open)... provide multiple inlets with mutiple oppurtunities for exit...(2 or more open)....huge problem.

Thanks for the answers guys. It doesn't seem to matter if I have one of the front windows open or not, it still makes the noise. I will check tonight. Would it help to put on the window flares?
