Hey there. My first post here, but I've lurked for a month or so. I ordered an '05 Lariat on 3/2...built 3/18...shipped 3/22 in my grubby hands on 3/26!!! Just over 3 weeks. How's that for fast?!! However...seems they forgot to hook up the cruise control and last night after sitting in it (in the driveway) just listening to the Audiophile and sucking in the smell of new leather, I get out to wipe some water spots off the door jam and what do I see?...or DON'T see?...they've forgot to paint the entire passenger front door jam. I couldn't believe it. I'm taking it to the dealer today to have the cruise fixed and I'll point out the "skip" then. I'm soooo smitten with this truck, but can't believe they could miss something like that in Inspection. I hope these are the only/last of my problems. I had a horrible experience years ago with a Taurus I purchased. Keeping my fingers crossed. No wonder it only took 3 weeks to get out the door! The parts that ARE Dark Stone are beautiful

 

That sounds like a major whoops! on the factory. Sounds like they were trying to get your truck out the door quickly and the QC folks were napping!
I hope the dealer(who should have caught it too) will offer you some compensation(free oill changes, etc).
