Question Auto Parking Brake release? Option??

Greetings!
Quick question.... my XLT 2001 Screw has no automatic parking brake release... ie you put it in drive and the brake automatically releases....

Do any of you have this option in the Lariat or other high end packages??? I'd like to fit it to my truck if it's possible. Have it on my other Ford products and like it....

In the past, it was a vacume hose connection to a vacume solenoid on the p-brake assy... switch hooked into the column shift stuff...

Thanks!
Steve

Good ?

Y'know, I've had my S-Crew for almost 4 years now and have never tried releasing the p-brake like that.
I'll have to give it a try today on the way home and report back.

Good luck!!

Not my my 99 Lariat or my 03 Lariat's. Put in drive and truck doesn't move. Just curious, what other Ford have that. I had an S-Type rental for a week that had automatic parking brake (set and release), bnut didn't know it was on Ford branded vehicles too.

Cars for the most part....

Our Crown Vic has it, as would Grand Marquis and Town Cars, our Mark VII LSC. Thought there was another that we had....

Just a nice feature, wasn't sure if it had made it into the trucks!

From my experience Ford does not offer it in the trucks. My buddies chevys and gmcs all have it. I guess gm thinks it is too difficult to reach down and pull a lever.
