Hey y'all,

I noticed something hanging off my rear axle yesterday. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is, nor how to fix it. The attached end appears to be going towards the brake lines, which worries me--but the truck is stopping fine (albeit somewhat sluggish, but I was writing that off to having to get new pads). I figure whatever it is, can't be directly coming from the brake lines or else I wouldn't be able to stop period.

Any help guys?

 

Looks like your differential vent tube. Crawl under the truck and secure it up high. Not a problem.

 

Exactly... Mine fell off too. It's there to help vent internal pressure. Tubes mounted high so water doesnt get inside.

 

Dont worry about your braking. It just MOUNTS with the brake line coupling.

 

The rear tire looks wet, is oil from the rear end coming out the vent tube?
