TIRES

Stock sizes are limited at best.
I have three(3) Screws from '01 - '05, the stock Wranglers were junk and everything else was expensive.
Try the BigO AT dualgrooves (don't laugh) - I got 88K out of one(1) set and have 63K on another set, I am extremely happy with them.
Don't know your area but, they are very quiet and suprisingly get excellent traction on mud, snow and ice.
+ BigO rotations and balancing are free for the life of the tire.

I put 285/70/17 Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs on my 2001 Screw and love them. Great look, quiet ride and feels like I'm driving a sports car. I think the Bridgestone Revos and the BF Goodrich's are the two best all terrain choices.

Then he was lookin' at the best.
That is exactly what I run on my factory 17" wheels. The BFG is a little pricey, but I have always heard that "You get what you pay for".
Assuming the KR is a 4x4, the 285's fit with no probs on the factory setup. But, he could always crank the torsion bars a little to make the truck look set better.

1BAD...

Didn't you have the 315's with no adjustments? I think you mentioned you had some rubbing when turned all the way, but I believe you didn't even mess with the torsion bars, right?

I plan on getting the 305/65/17 Pro Comp Xtreme's before the end of the month while they still have the 4 for 3 special.

Tire Reviews

This is a link that I like. I haven't replaced my tires yet, but when I do I am pretty sure that I will go for the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos myself. These are not scientific reviews, but there are hundreds of personal experience reviews about many thousands of miles of use.

It will give you some ideas other options and a good starting point on pricing.
