I have the rear, 2", and I'm going to do the front. I am thinking of going with the Harley springs in the front. They are 1" lower than what I have now. I don't want mine to be too low, just enough to tell it is lower. After lowering the rear with shackles, I had a little vibration which I fixed with pinion shims. The ride is no different and I have yet to hit the bump stops.

it dosent look weird with just the back done does it? i think there is enough room for it not to. what degree shims did you use? im just trying to get all the info before i do anything. i would eventually like for it to lay frame, but i need to go a little just for now. i was kind of thinking about the DJM kit, or the eibach springs, just for the handling aspect. let me know what you think. i need some 2wd perspective on all this, all my friends have 4wd. they are no help. thanks

I installed belltech 4/3 lowering kit on my 2001 supercrew about two years ago, and love it. easy install no surprises truck rides and handles better than stock. I baught the better kit with the upgraded shocks. I would say about 4 hour install plus alignment. Alignment went easy no pull or tire wear. Excelant kit purchased through summit racing.

I lowered my '03 two wheel drive two inches in the rear with the DJM shackle kit. The installation was very easy, the parts are well made. I removed the stock shim (which is a 1 degree shim) and installed 2 degree shims in their place. I think that 4 degree shims also work. I have no vibrations, no problems with handeling, and also have never hit the bump stops. With the 2" lowering the rear end is just slightly higher, about 1 " then the front end, but the truck no longer looks like it's going down hill all the time.

Yes, you remove the stock shackle and replace it with a longer shackle. The only tip I can give you is to make sure you unload the springs before you take the bolts out. If you don't you could get hurt. When you pit the shim kit on, the hardest part is getting the springs to line back up with the rear end.

When installing don't try to do one side at a time install all spring parts and rear springs loosly then put rear axle in placen then go back and torque all fasteners much easier to line everything up this way. Also you should have the weight on springs when tightening shackels, that way they will be in their operating range of motion when you tighten the bushings.

Mine is getting dropped tomorrow!!!

Already had a 2" drop on the rear, but after 130K miles, it was time for a change. Tomorrow I am getting a Western Chassis 2/4 drop with Doetsch Tech shocks all the way around (still running original factory shocks).

Will let you know the result (with pics).

I also did the 4-3 kit from belltech.
I like the look but the shocks are a POS.
I have pictures if you would like to see how it came out.

Hello Isaiah,
I thought I knew that user name!
The tires on mine are 295/40/20.
If you are turning hard and hit hard bump at the same time they will rub.
This has only happened a couple times, But the nice thing is they are the same size overall as the stock ones so the speedo is still right on.
My E-mail is the same.

h8louzn@comcast.net

Send me some pics when your done.
I now live in Sac. so my home # has changed.
I will E-mail you my new stuff.
Eddie
