odometer question

i have a 2004 f150 supercrew xlt that i purchased not to long ago, so i still have a lot to learn about the truck. on my previous truck (silverado) the odometer can be switched to the total miles, trip miles, and total hours. on my f150 it can be switched to total miles and trip miles. when i'm driving i can switch over to the trip miles and it will stay on the trip miles, but as soon as i turn the truck off and then restart it it will go back to the total miles, is there any way i can make it so it will stay on the trip miles?
thanks

Not that I have found. Why not just switch it back after you start the engine?
The button can make it display a lot of other info but turning off the ignition always changes it back to milage total.

yeah i do switch back when i turn on the engine, but i guess i'm just lazy. yeah the button could display a lot of other info, but i think on my xlt it only displays temp, compass, trip, and total milage. the temp and compass is always showing.
