Tire question on the Screw
KingJR, it looks like it is time for new tires. 58,000 miles is definitely above average for those tires. Good for you for getting that many miles out of them, now go down to the tire store and spend some money.
I can't wait for tomorrow to come, 7:00am is when I get my new tires.
Woo HOO!--Justin
How are the Duelers on the highway?? I don`t do much off roading, and I`m concerned with tire buzz! I do a road trip pulling my trailer down to Bristol,TN every year in the spring and couldn`t stand a constant hum for 800+ miles!!

tires
I have Generals on my truck and they are almost wore out at 30000 miles is this common? I'm decided to go with 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers, I've heard only good things about them! If you are interested discounttire.com has them extremely cheaper than any dealer and free shipping.
Oh man these Duelers are awesome!!
The one size larger really makes my truck look good. Sorta filled up the wheel wells.
I did 65 yesterday while making sure that my speedo was correctly reprogramed and I didn't really notice any more noise than the wrangler RT/S that came off the truck.
I think this was well worth the money spent.
Some point today I'll get pics posted.

Thanks for the info Justin!!
Re: pictures uploaded!
That is some serious Dry Rot you've got there.
I've seen that often on vehicles and trailers that sit for a long time out doors. It's usualy worst on the side with the most direct exposer to the sun.
And you definatly shouldn't be driving on them. It's like playing Russian Roulet.

hahaha, that is a really good way to put that!
My truck lived outside it's entire life so far. Now that I have a house with a garage big enough it is inside, so these tires shouldn't do that. But yes the passenger side had the worst cracking and that was primarily the side exposed when parked in the driveway.

Now make sure you get an alignment done if you havent already done so, to protect your new investment
Here KingJR, have a nanner for your new tires
dpostman
I was thinking about the alignment yesterday. My truck drives straighter down the road now than it did before the new tires were put on. I always had to hold to the left a bit on the wheel and the alignment shops always said I was so close to being aligned it may be hard to get perfect.
I'll go to a totally different shop here soon, this week is going to be a very low mileage week.
Thanks for the nanner! Speaking of that...I have one on my desk right now that needs to be devoured.
