I was told by a buddy of mine that i had to replace my battery in my 01 Super Crew , if it had a security system , it would erace the security codes, as well as my computer would have to re-boot.
To avoid this problem you could purchase an attachment that plugs a 9 volt battery into the lighter, keeping all things goin

WWHHHAAATTTT?????...Your buddy needs to go to Betty Ford. First do you have an aftermarket system?...Second the only thing that will clear from your computer will be the the fault codes. Your PATS system will be fine. As far as an after market alarm check with the installer.

Your buddy also may be talking about these thing that plugs into your cigar lighter to keep radio settings also. The main computer will not loose its memory just any codes you have
