I have a 2001 SCrew, 4 x 2, 5.4 with the 3:55 LS rear end.
I have a Mike Troyer tuned Superchip, open air filter kit, and dual exhaust. On the highway I normally see 18-21 mpg, which drops to around 17 in town. The truck has all the power I could ask for with this set up.
When I load my 1200 pound trailer with my 3600 pound Cobra and head out to the track, I average 12 mpg, no matter if I am on the highway or in town. I normally run at 70-75 miles per hour pulling the trailer on the highway.
Hope this helps...

hey mike
What are you getting now for mileage? I installed the 1715 from mike troyer and a K&N FIPK and receive 13/14 MPG(on the high octane setting)

20 sounds a little too good to be true? of course I have 4X4.

What part of LA are you in? I am from New Orleans (westbank), but live in Baton Rouge now. FTW have a local section you may want to check that out because they do have meets from time to time.

I have a 4.2 ext cab and got 20 mpg from Baton Rouge to Houston. On average I get about 17 mpg with my superchip and dual exhaust and K&N filter and a heavy foot.

I think if you slowed down to 60mph your mileage would probably be 15to 16mpg or so....

but then again... I personally put a cost on driving fast and am prepared to pay it.

I took the intake off my old truck and just put it on my new one. I averaged 13.5 mpg around town before the intake and the last tank (first tank with the new intake installed) I averaged 16 mpg! I think that is excellent seems how the intake did nothing for my 4.6L.
