2001 screw signal mirror problem

Both signal mirrors quit at the same time. front and rear signals still work fine. Do the mirrors have a seperate fuse? Thanks.

I don't know about fuses, but my left one quit working week before last and it turned out to be the bulb was burned out. Sounds like a co-incidence that both would burn out at the same time but stanger things have happened. Wouldn't take much to check.

what year truck do you have? my 2003 is easy. just tilt the mirror as far down as possible. look inside the upper part of the mirror behind the glass, you will see 2 tabs. take a long flat screwdriver and pull the tabs down gently , not to break them. you'll have to do one then the other back and forth until it releases. then just tilt the painted cover back and lift up. that's it. the bottom of the cover sits in 2 tabs as well but all you have to do is release the top first.

i thought one of mind stopped working so i called my dealer, my truck was only a week old. the service guy thought they might have to order a whole new mirror. i hung up than phone and took it apart myself, then i called them back and i told them how to remove it. i didn't think Ford would be that stupid as to not have it come off to service the bulb. maybe the first ones with the arrow in the glass but i bet that is just a bulb as well. i would think they all come off the same way. it's pretty easy, take your time. when you look inside the mirror you'll know what i'm talking about.

You are correct! The procedure is the same for the 2001.
