Question Screw Side steps nerf bars stainless & ebay!

All,

This has been trashed thrashed and throroughly under reported from my attempt to use the search feature of this site... Of thousands of hits..... I still couldn't get a definite answer on stainless side bars for my 2001 screw.

My quest is for polished stainless steps. No chrome, no black. No wheel to wheel.

From this website and ebay, here are the manufacturers of bars that I found youse guys came up with. (All stainless unless unknown or stated) (Most also had black for less)

Ford- Chrome I believe.
Back Country ???
Westin
Bully
Luverne
Smittybilt
Dee Zee ???
Nasta
Factory HD- not steps but ground clearance indicators...! Duh!

Here's what I found on ebay, and some emails from sellers and their stores etc.

Westin- Chrome over stainless only. $350 includes shipping Snap on step pad. (chrome can chip off.....)

SmittyBilt- $265 and $39 shipping. Polypropylene step

Luverne- Only found stainless boards, not tubes.

Bully- $230-240 free shipping. Compressed step area. (looks like would be a better more solid step.) Has bull emblem in step area.

Nasta- $275-285 free shipping (same seller as above, cheaper at his store! Bling!) All stainless hardware, brackets & bolts! Molded step pad.

One mystery brand "so cheap can't reveal source" sez seller, is at $150 plus 45 shipping. Look like Smittybilt and Nastas... in shape.

All seem to be 3" 16 gauge (.065" wall) polished marine grade stainless, mandrell bent.....bolt on....

What you don't see, is what I'm looking for... How "bolt on" are they and how well do they support??? I'm a tad over 200 and I really don't want a weak mount system! Also, how well is the foot pad anchored on? Will it come off if given right pressure from side etc? How are they held on? Screws or snaps or glue? Wouldn't want to have one let loose about the time you've got all your weight on it climbing in or out..... ouch!

I've put this in the supercrew area as I'm interested in what you've run into with any of these "kits". PLus's and minus's. Hardware... stability... amount they stick out.... I'm not sure how close the std and ext cabs are to ours... so it's here.

I'm leaning towards the Bully due to the step design, but am intrigued by the Nasta with the entire stainless setup. Cheap just seems too cheap....??? Of course free shipping is never free.... unless you buy from Amazon and they muck up your order!

Only qualified opinions will be accepted.....
GOOD pictures with proper lighting are always a treat!

Grassyass,
Steve

I'm getting the Back Country put on mine tommorow after long debates. Would never go with anything polished, but that's my opinion. Check online and also go to epinions.com and see what they say......
