While my supercrew is getting fixed I had to get the grass cut under my camper. I had a guy from work move it with his F-250. After i cut the grass I borrowed my brother in law's chevy 2500 crew cab. I had to give it so much gas in order to get the thing to move that i asked my wife if the wheels were spinning. This truck is a four wheel drive 3/4 ton crew cab with a 6.0L engine and it felt like the brake was on. After doing some checking my 5.4L has 350 lbs of torque at 2500 rpm and the chevy has 360 lbs of torque at 4500 rpm. What good is that!

 

Makes me think of the 03 Z71 w/ 5.3L my dad had after getting rid of his 2000 F150 7700 with 5.4L. NO comparison at all between the two motors. Yes, the 5.3L claims more hp and would spin the tires easy but using it as a truck it was nothing compared to the 5.4L. The 5.3 was always downshifting when towing and the truck could not handle/haul a load like the ford. Needless to say, he owned the Z71 for 13 months and is now driving a 04 F250 w/ V10 and 4.10's. She tows and goes like there is no tomorrow ...just doesnt ride as nice as the 150, let alone the Z71
