Right price?
Right price?
I found a 2001 supercrew, lariat, comes with a matching bed cover(the hard one that makes it look like an excursion) it has 114k miles, im hoping its a 5.4 liter and not a 4.6, but they are asking $16,000.... i thought that was a little much for the year and those miles??? or am i wrong
Go to Kelly Blue Book and find out, you need to know some of the specifics though.

I purchased a 2001 Lariat Screw 4X4 with all of the goodies on it in November of this year. It had 26,000 miles on it and the balance of the original warranty. I paid $13,000 difference and traded in a perfect 1998 Chevy S-10 ZR-2 Extented Cab. The retail price of the vehicle was $26,000, the wholesale price was $22,000. The only figuring was the wholesale price of my vehicle. Do not use the Kelly Blue Book - these prices are inflated - the industry uses the NADA book and you can access it using the internet and then make it a Favorite for future reference.
The vehicle you are looking at has excess mileage and I would not pay that kind of cash for it. Try this, go to a Ford dealer, bypass the salespeople, and go directly to fleet sales. Guess what - chances are they won't ask any questions and will deal with you on a wholesale to wholesale basis. I do have a business but have been buying fleet since I was 18 years old and did not have a business then.
Using the NADA book you can nail down the exact values - be sure to insist on the bottom line & do your homework.
