zero to sixty times

Has anybody ever timed their 0-60? And if so what did you come up with? I have a 2wd supercrew 5.4L with af1 and magnaflow 3" cat-back single exhaust and the best time i could get was 8.9, I only ran twice but i thought it should be better than that.

I do not worry to much about those times. It is a truck, not a Mustang!

My 4.6L with 3.08 rear gears 2wd goes 0-60 in 9.8 seconds. Of course that was before I went to a little smaller tire and dropped weight. I'm hoping for a 9.6 hopefully. BTW, I have a Air Intake.

I know it's not a mustang, but i'd like to know that all of the stuff i'm doing to it is actually doing something. I've read online that the 2003 supercrew had a 0-60 time between 9.1 and 10.3, so its still close to what they say. All i'm doing to get the time is slamming the gas and stopping the stopwatch when i hit sixty.

Using a stopwatch is highly inaccurate compared to the timing gear that manufacturers and magazines use. It is also very inconsistent. By the time your eyes see the needle at 60mph, and your brian thinks, your fingers react, could be half a second. All that while actualy driving, steering & footwork. And, the needle is probably lagging actual speed by a couple mph too. 2wd Screw 5.4L should be under 9 seconds. I think I have seen magazine tests in the low 8 range, with the 4wd being high eights.

A better test would be to measure your speed at a certain marker, like a road sign when you can start consistently at the same spot and the sign never moves.

My 2001 4x4 Supercrew does it in a little over 5 seconds; I'm blown of course.
