Piaa Valance

I have just recently bought the fog lights for my piaa front valance, I want to install the lights but I bought the lights from a friend and do not have the instructions. I do have all the wires and the switch. I have a 4x2 and did not have fog lights prior, if that helps. Help me please.

lights should be fairly straightforward, are they Piaa lights?
just mount the brackets for the lights and install.
wiring will vary a little by brand, but wire the switch in the cab to a relay, run the relay to the lights and ground the lights.

i tried figuring out the install, i connected the power wire to the battery second i found that the wiring kit had three grounds( looks like one is for the wire that goes to the battery the second one is for the lights themselves and the third one is for the power switch, could this be correct) Second i fed the harness trough the firewall, but there is one more wire that comes from the harness that connects to the switch after reading a couple post it sounds like I need to hook that up to the parking lights, but how? Where would I tie that in?

What kind of lights did you get?
Is there a relay or just a switch and two lights?
sounds like you do not have a relay from what you are describing.
3 grounds is common, one for each light, plus one for the switch.

some kits will just have one hot wire coming from the switch and goes to the lights. then you have to ground each light.

for your switch, you can get your power from the parking lights, or any other source that comes on with the ignition. i prefer to wire to a constant source, then you can flip the lights on at any time - but you have to remember to turn them off when you are done.

here is a link to KC's wiring diagrams, has a few to choose from, should be able to find something that will help you..

the two lights have a harness the plugs into a black box and then the power wire harness plugs into the box.

What brand and type are the lights?
never seen any with a harnass.
may need to post up in the electical section, or include a picture.

not yet, having real crappy weather in NY. Have not been able to work on them again. I have all but one wire coming from the switch hooked up. I am going to take pics this weekend and post for some help.
