Rocks around the taillights
Rocks around the taillights
I have been having a problem with rocks from the sand they throw on the roads here in Colorado ending up in the small gap between the taillight and the body. While it does not appear to be causing any damage, it is not very appealing.
Is this a unique problem or have others of you experienced it?

It's definitely a Colorado thing. Probably due to the size of some of the larger rocks found in the "sand" used during storms. All three of my F-150s have had the same problem. When winter ends, take out the tails, clean and replace. I think some guys on this board have used tape to seal the backs of the lights. Do a search for the technique.
Now, if we could just get everyone in CO to quit cruising in the passing lanes!

Thanks for the responses folks...have any of you talked with the dealer about correcting this under warranty? I was planning on this being my next step, but I don't want to bang my head against the wall if somebody else has already tried.
This thread might have the answer to the rock in taillight problem. Check RP's answer, I believe it's the second post.
