Topper opinions

I went shopping for fiberglass toppers on Saturday and I have it narrowed down to 3:

ARE Z - $1450
Leer 100R - $1000
Glasstite Raven - $950

All 3 completely cover the bed rails.

For some reason I really like the Glasstite Raven. It has carpet liner, drop down front slider, 3rd brake light and interior light. They have my color in stock. Great price.

I know everyone loves the ARE, but I kind of like the look of the Leer and Glasstite because they have the smaller aluminum framed side windows, and it gives it more of a "truck with a topper" look as opposed to the "i'm an SUV" look. They are also much cheaper, which is a huge plus. Now, there must be a reason the ARE is so expensive, but I don't know if I could justify it.

Any opinions?

I have the Leer 100R. I have had no problems with this topper, I like it alot. My reason for buying a topper has to do with our dog, therefore I like the full slideing windows as opposed to the little pop outs on the ARE model. Check my gallery for pics.

I gotta agree with Alaskan,
I got the 100R also because of the dog. But IMHO, quality cap is a quality cap (also compare the warrenty). Just pick what you think looks best. If your going to fork out the money, get all the options you want (cause it's cheeper then buying a second cap).

I got a carpet liner, front sliding window, 3rd brake light, a wired in dome light and still kicking myself in the pants for not getting a fold down front window. I paid 1500 CDN (about 1100 USD)

I have the century Cap on my SCrew, also covers the bed rails.

It was in the 1050.00 range with all the stuff I got on it.
Side flip up windows.
Drop down slider
Interior light
LED 3rd brake light ( think the 3rd brake light is a DOT requirement now ?? ).
Removable ladder racks ( yahakama ).

Just another option. My Century I ordered with the Ford paint code ( Silver YN ) , and it was painted to match from Century, so it was not a stock item per say.

Good luck, they all seems to be in the same range as far as quality and fit / finish.

Thumbs up

It may be to late but you may also want to check out the Raider canopy line. They are manufactured in Canada and boast of the best warranty in the business. They are just a bit cheaper then the Leer and comparable in quality.

Snugtop XTR the way to go!

Check out this link: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=48061

This is my wifes truck. Snugtop XTR. We have had it for close to 3 years. It still looks new. It comes standard with sliding window carpet popout windows on the side.

Can't go wrong with any of the top of the line ones.

Leer 100XQ
ARE Z
Snugtop XTR

I went with the ARE Z because I got a great price and I like the keyless lock connected to the factory system + the SUV like rear glass.

I like the one piece look fo the Leer side glass.

The XTR is awesome but the roof rack was 1/2 to high for my garage.

Anyone of these would be great!
