Ran with a Hemi!!

OK, first off, a disclaimer - I was on a five lane expressway with very light traffic, so i was not endangering anyone's life except my own.

Heading downtown, I passed by a white crew cab Dodge 4X4 with a Hemi - did not pay him much attention until he came running back up behind me. I knew at this point he wanted to play. I punched it and he stayed right on my butt. Then I shifted lanes and slowed up and let him pass. Got right back behind him and stuck to him like a dirty diaper up to 100+mph. OK, at this point I was satisfied and let him go on.

Yes, I have a few mods on my truck (exhaust, modded airbox, and Superchips tuner), but I was not impressed at all with his supposed 340hp!!

guys,

if you are running stock...don't even attempt to try and outrun a hemi...cause unless the driver is stupid...you'll lose. sorry!

also be advised the new titan will roast about any ford too...

didn't mean to ***** on anyone's parade...just trying to keep ya from looking dumb...

Remember, you have 2wd and that truck was 4wd. Extra weight and drivetrain losses. Your mods give you more torque at the wheels than it has too.

Hey guys, remember, the title of the post was "Ran With a Hemi" not "Outran a Hemi". When he was behind me, he was right on my butt and I had it floored. After he passed and I got behind him, I could keep up, but there was no way I was going to pass him. The thing is we were probably in his range of highest torque and HP (if I remember the #'s correctly for the Hemi) and I really wanted to see how much more power HE had than me. I like to see power, whether it is from my vehicle or anyone elses, no matter what the vehicle it is. And I am not trying to badmouth Dodge, because I do not have a brand loyalty - I have had a Dodge, Chevy, and Ford truck.

Again, I was not very impressed with the 345 HP Hemi. And from what I have read in the L forums, the SRT10 is not doing too well against the L's either (of course I am sure there are no biased opinions over there )

same here, I don't have any expectations of beating him...I'd just like to see a couple 6000lb trucks go at it...

aren't all hemi drivers stupid? j/k....

I just put a new billet fuel door on so that's good for at least 5-10HP

I'd probably sit n spin anyway, cuz I'm still running on the original Goodyear shoes with 49k on em...

all in good fun...
