Wannabe a 150 Owner
Quick question for you guys.
I own a 87 Jeep Cherokee and I've been on a lot of forums to help me along in my quest for a sweet trail rig. Most recently my wife, a Texas girl, decides she wants to get a F150 SuperCrew or "Screw" as I have seen in this part of the forum. We are looking at getting a 2001-2004 and are looking to spend around $25k. We also would like to get it with 4 wheel drive. Since forums are where the real answers are, most of the time, can you guys tell my of any problems that seem to be recurring with the Screws? Also what I need to look for and what I need to stay away from. Thanks for the help and try not to flame me too bad for the noob questions.

Welcome to the forum. I ordered my 2001 in March of 2000 and took delivery in May. The only problem I had was the shocks. They leaked so they were replaced under warranty. I had the rad changed out to the two inch rad. but that was not needed. No other problems. Aside from mileage which is a problem with any truck I think it is a great truck.
Welcome...
You sound like me when I was looking for a new/used truck..
Please allow me to just cut to the point. If you are willing to spend upwards of $25k for a used one, it would be cheaper for you payment-wise and probably more to your liking to just get a new one...
I too was looking at around 24-26 for a used one, then I crunched the numbers, depreciation and such, it's better to buy new... I would suggest a 2003 if you can find one, it will be much cheaper than the new 04's.. The 04's are pretty sweet though!

Chris
