Think the Supercrew is outta here....
I have my eye on a 2002 F-350 Lariat, 4x4, Crew Cab, short bed powerstroke diesel with 59K miles. My truck is a 2001 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 with 39K miles.
I have longed for a diesel, and since Ford canned the idea of putting a V-6 diesel in the half tons, it looks as though this is they way I am going.
They Superduty is going to cost me $29K. I currently owe $14K on my supercrew, and they are going to give me $19,800 for my trade, which is about $1200 above KBB trade in value. This deal might be done on Monday.
Looks like my new site just might be thedieselstop.com!
I will let you know what I decide.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hey RC,
Glad to see ya around
I was thinking along similar lines, but have my eye on a F 250 new off the lot, with our x-plan even if I only get what I owe for my trade my payments would drop a little over 100 a month, of course I'd go back to full term and lose most of my mods
Decisions decisions,,,
FM
PS be careful out there, ice ice baby !!!

I hear you on the ice. We were supposed to get nail up here on the norht shore, but it appears the liine of snow/rain/sleet/freezing rain ended about 30 miles south of Cleveland. They are still predicting some freezing rain througout the day.
Sounds like you have had the same thoughts I have. My brother has a PSD, and he gets 18MPG, and even 15MPH when pulling his fifth wheel trailer! They last forever, and get incredible mileage. I don't know how the fuel is in MO, but up here they use winter formulated fuel, and right now I only get about 12MPG. That comes out to nearly 150 more miles just on 25 gallons of fuel.

I like the F-150..
I just bought a 2002 F-150 XLT Super Crew 4x4. I only wish it was the Lariat, but overall I LOVE IT!! I'm selling my 98 F-150 XLT X-cab 4x4 and have upgraded to the 2002. The 98 has the 4.6 and the 02 has the 5.4. What did you pay for your new truck? I looked for over a year, but they were simply out of my price range. The new 6.0 is very impressive. Good Luck!!
Rich,
Got it for $29,100.......KBB dealer $32,000
Gave me $19800 for my truck.....KBB trade in $18,400.
It was a pretty good deal, and I couldn't pass it up. Especially since I owed less than $14K for my truck!

Hey RC,
I checked the classifieds today for my much coveted lightning taillights and corners and third brake light that was on my matching truck and didn't see them listed. Then I remembered that you were probabally just holding them aside for me.

I'd love to have the SD but am shying away due to losing my mods and paying registartion fees again, going to Disney next week and dropping a few bucks down there.
Oh well, congrats to you, I think you'll love it. FM
No problem Matt, if I had them, they would definately be for sale. I have a few items I need to list, but will have to get pics this weekend. I have an Extang Black Max cover, full set of tan husky floor mats (both fronts and the full rear), and a pair of factory "catch all" mats with a ford logo. I'm sure there is something I've forgotten also.
After Market Tail Lights
I'm having a hard time finding after market carbon fiber tail lights. What body style is the super crew? I'm confused on what is classified at flareside. On ebay there are many many different after market head & tail lights, but nobody carries the super crew. As I mentioned before, I have a 2002 F-150, XLT, 4x4, SuperCrew. Anyone have a good site or location to purchase these?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Rich,
Supercrew, flareside, and lightning tailights are the same. If you purchase lighting tails, you must use shorter bolts to mount them, or they will poke through the rear of the lens. If you purchase your lenses for either truck, they will fit your supercrew.

Tried buying.......
I've been looking for the tail lights for about 2 weeks. Ebay has a very large selection, but when I email them stating I have a SuperCrew 4x4 they state the lights will not fit. I did find one character that had 4 models that would fit, but since he's the only selling them his prices are CRAZY. I've copied his prices- Quality is all I sell. Prices are :
clear $300.58
black $300.58
carbon $312.60
smoke $300.58
plus shipping and handling.
Here was his post when I asked why the prices were so high- (most lamps I've seen are between $45.00-$110.00)
Nobody on ebay sells INPRO/CARWEAR product for one reason....the expensive. There the best quality and nobody else else on ebay carries lights for the supercrew. I can give you a small discount, but thats it. Maybe $20 or $25 less. Its up to you.
I think I'll go to a couple local shops and get the real scoop.

Congradutlations on your purchase. I currently own a SCrew, but I use to have a '01 PSD SD. The diesel stop is a great reasource. I would have bought another Super Duty, but I just could afford it right now. I will have one again though...
