"L" Third Brake Light

"L" Third Brake Light
Was looking back at old posts for Ideas. Found the one for the "L" Third brake light. I "***-Umed" that the L stood for Lightning, so went to my local Ford dealer to see if they had one and how much. I was told that the Lightning had the same one as the rest of the trucks. ???? If this is so, where did you guys get the "L" one? Or does the parts man need some educating.

Hes feeding you a line. The Lightnings came with the nice LED lights. I got mine off Ebay awhile back new in the Ford box for under 90.00 shipped. You can also check here on the classified ads as they pop up there once in awhile

Your parts guy needs some educating. Take a look at my gallery and you can see what the light looks like. Its the third brake light that is used on the lightnings and is not the same as on other trucks. Your best bet on buying one is probably to find one on ebay or in the classifieds of this forum. They come up on both fairly frequently. You could also go to FordPartsOnline and order a new one from them. When I checked a couple of months ago the price was 163.86 plus shipping. I found a deal on the classifieds for a new one plus two lightning tails for 325. Hope this helps.

That is to say your dealer is...
The tails are most definitely not the same and IMHO, the L tail looks far better! Here's a pic of mine... Before and after... I got mine off E-Bay for right about $80...
