Auto Trans. Linkage

Morning all! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

I did some searching in the transmission section and probably should have posted this there...but I seem to get great answers here in the Screw forum.

Anyway, when I shift into OverDrive/Drive my orange shift indicator on the dash points inbetween OD and 2nd. Is there a really easy way for me to just adjust this? I knew how to do it on my old '85 K-10 Chev, but don't want to mess anything up on my 01 ford. My warranty expires Dec 31st...so if this is something my dealer needs to do I'll have to get in there before the new year.

Happy New Year!

Very simple. Look under the dash, next to the steering column and you will see a round threaded barrel, this is how you adjust the needle.

Hey thanks Yankee!

I have been under the dash many times so I know what you are talking about. This sounds much easier to do that installing a remote starter like I want to do next. I may fold on the remote start and have the dealer do it...I don't know if I can afford to have any mistakes fixed.

Thanks!

Thanks again yankee!

I just made the adjustment yesterday while I was under the dash figuring out what happened to my ground wire for my KC Daylighter rocker switch.

Now each gear lines up on the display perfectly.

Thanks!
