Supercrew Crash Test

Seeing the new F150 crash test was quite impressive as compared to the older model years.

However, this was done with a Supercab and not Supercrew.

Have they ever done one with a Supercrew? Or at least an Expedition which is more close to our cab and body styles?

Thanks in advance,

Jag

I too would like to see a specific offset crash test on the 01-03 SCrew. But none have been done it seems. The Highway Institute seems to be assuming similiar results for the 01-03 SCrew based on the fact that the frame upgrades (etc.) that make the 04 F150 better are not on any of the older F150s.

If you do a search of this site, you will find some pictures of several SCrews that have been crash tested unintentionally by their owners, and many seem to have protected the occupants to some degree.

I don't think the Highway Institue has tested any F250s, Expeditions, etc, so who knows how they would perform.

Right now, wishing I had the 04 model with known positive results!

The supercrews will fare better since they have a true b-pillar. This was the case with the '01-'03 supercrews and regular cabs. The super cabs were the only ones that folded up like a coke can.

I would like to see the screw tested as well. One would think the screw would do a little better because of the pillar. The extended cab with both doors open makes a big opening in the cab.
